Indicative of Cormac McCarthy's growing international reputation, Edwin T. Arnold and Dianne C. Luce's second book-length collection of essays on Cormac McCarthy's work focuses on The Border Trilogy. The book contains all of the essays that were first presented in Arnold and Luce's Southern Quarterly special issue on the Border Trilogy (Spring 2000): a series of in-depth articles on the completed Trilogy by Edwin Arnold, Dianne Luce, John Wegner, Phillip Snyder, Jacqueline Scoones and Nell Sullivan, plus essays by European scholars Christine Chollier (France), George Guillemin (Germany) and David Holloway (UK).
