National Portrait Gallery Acquires McCarthy PortraitAs reported on their blog, facetoface, the National Portrait Gallery has acquired a portrait of Cormac McCarthy by artist Andrew Tift.
Marty Priola, the Society's Webmaster and Assistant Secretary, spoke with the National Portrait Gallery's Warren Perry and offered his thoughts on McCarthy's place in the canon. Read the announcement and interview.
The painting, from 2004, is acrylic on canvas; it is currently on view in the New Acquisitions Gallery of the National Portrait Gallery.
