Cormac McCarthy Call for PapersAbstract/Proposals by 15 November, 2004
Southwest/Texas Popular & American Culture Associations 26th Annual Conference
Albuquerque, NM February 9-12, 2005
Panels now forming on topics related to the writings of Cormac McCarthy.
Suggested topics include:
- The role of the southwest region in the western novels (This includes the role of history, culture, and landscape)
- Pastoral aspects of McCarthy’s writing (See Georg Guillemin’s new book, The Pastoral Vision of Cormac McCarthy)
- Adaptation of All the Pretty Horses to film
- The relationship of McCarthy’s works to the American literary canon
- The relationship between the South and the West in McCarthy’s work
Other topics are also welcome.
Send 100-200 word abstracts and proposals for panels by 15 November 2004:
