The BluesTonight's episode of Martin Scorsese presents The Blues - A Musical Journey, a film called The Road to Memphis, is directed by Richard Pearce. You may remember him from another little project he was once involved in called The Gardener's Son.

Not Strictly McCarthy-RelatedBut I stumbled across Simon Winchester's The Meaning of Everything this weekend. For those of you fascinated with words (as McCarthy readers usually are), this book's so far living up to Winchester's earlier work on a tangentially related subject, The Professor and the Madman. And, incidentally, for those of you who have been lusting after your very own personal copy of the twenty-volume The Oxford English Dictionary, Oxford University Press has dropped the price considerably in celebration of the 75th anniversary of its publication.

Searching for SuttreeCormac McCarthy Forum regular Wes Morgan has updated his Searching for Suttree site with even more photos. We'll be posting a link to this page soon in the Resources section of the Web site, but for the time being, those of you who aren't familiar with Knoxville should definitely take a look. Those of you who haven't yet read Suttree...well, you're in for a real treat.

Whales and MenThere's a new item on the Web site today, thanks to Edwin T. Arnold. I have, for some time wanted to include a précis of McCarthy's unpublished screenplay, Whales and Men. I can at long last report that that item is now available.
Check back later today or tonight for a couple new items in the Bookshop.
